It is against the law to set off fireworks between 11pm and 7am.

Extensions are allowed on the following dates/festivals:

  • until midnight on 5 November

  • until 1am on Chinese New Year, Diwali and New Year’s Eve.

It is illegal to let off fireworks in the street or a public place. You should only let off fireworks on private land, such as your garden, or on land where you have the landowner’s permission.

Any complaints about the use of fireworks should be reported to the local police on telephone number 101.
