Earlier Bin Collections

Our crews will be starting their collections at 5.45am from Thursday 9 July due to the high temperatures forecast. This is to help reduce the amount of time they are working in the heat and direct sun. Please put your bin out by 5.45am on your collection day.

On Wednesday 5 November HDC held its 3rd Annual Climate Conversation.

Following our declaration of a Climate and Ecological emergency in 2023, the Annual Climate Conversation continues to be a vital space for reflection, learning and collaboration.

This year’s theme brought together residents, parish councillors, community groups, businesses, policymakers and climate experts under the theme of "Together for Tomorrow."

This day celebrated local progress, showcased innovation and set new goals for climate action across Huntingdonshire.

A full report of the day along with pictures will be loaded on here shortly.

This year’s Climate Conversation highlighted community-led collaboration, with sessions, workshops and panels on:

  • The challenge of crops, countryside, climate and community in farming

  • How learning about sustainability starts at school

  • What it takes to build a new, sustainable community building

  • How to minimise your waste from food waste and beyond

  • Examining our own digital carbon footprints

  • Connected by water – what do we need to do to support long-term water security and ecological health across the district
