About the organisation

Sports Connections Foundation (SCF) is a charity that uses sport to transform lives. Their core work includes mentoring, multi-sport sessions, and enrichment activities designed to improve wellbeing and create pathways into education and employment for children and young people.

Funded project

The Inspire Through Sport project will focus on Huntingdon’s Oxmoor Estate and the SCF Hub. With the support of this fund, SCF will deliver weekly multi-sport sessions and targeted mentoring for 760 young people aged 8–18, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds.

These sessions will provide safe spaces for physical activity, build confidence, and offer career-based enrichment activities to raise aspirations and develop transferable skills. The project aims to reduce antisocial behaviour, improve mental health, and create clear pathways into education and employment.

How the fund helps

Funding covers staffing, venue hire, equipment, and enrichment activities, ensuring sessions remain free and accessible and enabling SCF to expand provision in Huntingdonshire.
