Council & Democracy

We operate a number of grant aid programmes and provide information on other opportunities available:

From 15 May 2024, local organisations will be able to apply for grants of £500-£2,500 for initiatives that support their communities and the Huntingdonshire Futures Place Strategy.

Huntingdonshire Futures sets out a vision to make Huntingdonshire a better place to live, work, and visit over the next 30 years. Over the last year, the council has started to work with local communities to bring the strategy to life.

The fund will enable groups to put on events or activities that support the Huntingdonshire Futures vision, such as improving physical and mental health, protecting and supporting our environment and celebrating our sense of history and place.

The Community Chest grant is now taking applications for the financial year 2024/25.

Over the last two years, the Community Chest has welcomed applications that focused on helping residents during and recovering from the pandemic. This resulted in the delivery of projects and initiatives developed by the community for the community.

This year we welcome applications from community groups and organisations who would like to help us achieve the following priorities that have been set out within the Corporate Plan for 2023–28:

  • Improving the quality of life and well-being for everyone

  • Keeping people out of crisis

  • Helping people in crisis

  • Lowering carbon emissions

Applications must be for projects that are based in Huntingdonshire, and where the significant majority of beneficiaries are Huntingdonshire residents.
