Intermittent Problems with our Telephones

Some phone calls to our Customer Service Centre are being cut off unexpectedly. We are looking into this problem to get it resolved. Please check to see if your query can be dealt with online or try again later. Thank you for your patience.

We are pleased to announce the introduction of weekly food waste collections, launching in April 2026

From March 2026, all residents will receive a:

  • 7-litre grey kitchen caddy

  • 23-litre external grey food waste unit

These will be provided free of charge.

Residents can place any food waste, including raw or cooked meat and bones, dairy, eggshells, tea bags, coffee grounds, vegetables and fruit, into their kitchen caddy before transferring it to the external food waste unit for weekly collection.

This new service is part of our commitment to promote sustainable waste disposal, support national changes to household recycling and reduce the amount of food that ends up in landfill.

While we are making food waste recycling easier, we also encourage residents to reduce the amount of food they throw away. Free materials and guidance are available on the Love Food Hate Waste website to help households do just that.

You can find further information about the service on the Food Waste page. If you have any questions, please email wasteminimisation@huntingdonshire.gov.uk
