The Shared Services of Huntingdonshire and Cambridgeshire CCTV Monitoring operation for Public Space CCTV for Huntingdon District Council provides an open and transparent approach to public space CCTV and as an Out of Hours Service across the towns of Huntingdon, St Ives, St Neots, Ramsey, Yaxley and Cambridge City.

This is endorsed by the certification that the control centre holds with the Biometric and Surveillance Camera Commissioner's (BSCC) office as a 'relevant authority' on which we are audited every year. Additionally, the control centre has achieved accreditation under BS7958:2015 for the 'Operation and Management of CCTV' and ISO9001:2015 Quality Management Systems Requirements Standard in 2022.

We are also registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), registration number Z581464X, to use CCTV images for crime prevention, detection and prosecution of offenders. We hold personal data from the CCTV system for a retention period of 31 days with an automatic erasure of data on a rolling time basis. Where incidents are under investigation and data requests from authorised organisations have been received, personal data may be held for a further 31 days from date of processing an authorised request.

All CCTV Operators are trained, SIA licenced, and operate in accordance with Surveillance Camera Code of Practice as outlined by the Home Office and ICO.

The Shared Services of Huntingdonshire and Cambridgeshire CCTV Monitoring operates in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act, GDPR and Data Protection Act.

This privacy policy will be reviewed annually as part of the requirements of BSCC.
