Huntingdonshire District Council (HDC) is pleased to announce that it is taking over the operation of the weekly St Neots market.

As the operator of established markets in St Ives and Huntingdon, HDC will bring the St Neots market into its wider programme of market management. The weekly market, held every Thursday in the Market Square, continues to be an important part of the town’s offer.

Recent improvement works in the Market Square have created a more welcoming, flexible, and modern space for traders and visitors. These upgrades will support the market’s ongoing development and strengthen its role at the heart of the town centre.

Executive Councillor for Economy, Regeneration and Housing, Cllr Sam Wakeford, said: “We are delighted to be taking on the management of the weekly market and look forward to supporting its growth. The market is an important part of the town’s identity, and we are committed to developing new opportunities for traders and delivering a vibrant experience for residents and visitors.”

HDC will be working closely with St Neots Town Council (SNTC) to deliver a varied programme of events in the Market Square, with further updates expected in the coming months. New traders will be welcomed in the new year, and interested parties are encouraged to get in touch. All enquiries should be directed to HDC.

HDC would like to thank the previous market operator, Wendy Fair, for its many years of service and longstanding contribution to the St Neots market.
