Ramsey and Bury County Division By-Election - Thursday 16 July 2026
A by-election will be held on Thursday 16 July 2026 for one seat on Cambridgeshire County Council in the Division of Ramsey and Bury.
Nominations
The Notice of Election will be published here on Thursday 11 June 2026. Nomination papers must be delivered, by hand, to the offices of Huntingdonshire District Council in Huntingdon (PE29 3TN) between the hours of 9am and 5pm. Nominations must be received by 4pm on Friday 19 June 2026.

Registering to vote and voting by post or proxy
The deadline to register to vote in this by-election is Tuesday 30 June 2026. At these elections, you will need to provide photographic identification before you can vote at a polling station. Read our voter ID page to learn more. If you do not have one of the required forms of ID, you can apply for a free voter authority certificate. The deadline to apply is 5pm on Wednesday 8 July 2026.
If you are unable to vote in person, you can apply to vote by post or appoint a proxy to vote on your behalf. If you wish to apply for a postal vote, please note that we must receive your application by 5pm, Wednesday 1 July 2026. You will not need photo ID to vote by post. If you wish to appoint a proxy to vote on your behalf, they will need to go to your polling station and have their own photo ID to vote on your behalf. The deadline for proxy applications is 5pm, Wednesday 8 July 2026.
