We are offering an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and skilled Vehicle Mechanic to join our Operations team. This is a pivotal role where you’ll be responsible for the maintenance and repair of vehicles, plant, and equipment, ensuring they meet Department for Transport MOT Test standards and remain safe, reliable, and compliant.
Working closely with our Workshop Manager, you will use your technical expertise to inspect, diagnose, and repair a variety of equipment. Your work will directly support essential council services and help ensure we deliver the best possible value and service to the public.
Key Responsibilities

Carry out maintenance, repairs, and inspections on a range of vehicles, plant, and equipment

Ensure all work meets MOT Test standards and complies with relevant safety regulations

Diagnose faults using diagnostic tools and fleet management systems

Work collaboratively with colleagues and independently when required

Maintain high-quality workmanship and contribute to efficient workshop operations.
About You
You are a committed professional with substantial experience in commercial vehicle repair. Skilled in vehicle maintenance, welding, and fabrication, you take pride in delivering high-quality work.
You bring

A valid UK Category C driving licence (Optional)

Proficiency in diagnostic equipment and fleet management systems

Strong technical knowledge across a range of vehicle and plant equipment

The ability to work independently and as part of a team

A proactive, adaptable approach and dedication to delivering value for money.
