Council Tax Service Update

The Council Tax team is currently experiencing a high volume of work. If you’ve contacted us via email or web form, please know that we are working through enquiries in order of priority and will respond as soon as possible.

Please avoid sending follow-up messages, as this will slow down our response times by increasing the overall workload. Thank you for your patience at this time.

What is paperless billing?

We are moving to paperless billing so that, instead of receiving a paper bill in the post, you can log onto our portal and view your bill online.

With paperless billing, you can:

  • view your Council Tax bill securely online using multifactor authentication

  • get your bill straight away - no waiting for the post

  • download and print your bill, if needed for reference or proof of address

  • check your current balance, instalments and payments any time

  • help us reduce paper, print and postage costs, releasing funds for essential services.

Sign up for paperless

Sign up for paperless billing and we will email you when your next Council Tax bill is ready to view online.

You will need to register for an online account for paperless billing. If you don't have one, we will send you details of how to register with your bill.

What happens next?

We will set your account up for paperless billing and will send you an email when your next bill is ready to view online.

Council Tax bills are usually issued in March, unless your circumstances change and we need to send a new one.

View your online bill

Once you have signed up for paperless billing and registered for an online account, you can view your bill at any time. Just follow these steps:

  • You will be sent an email with a secure passcode

  • Enter the passcode
