I was attracted to working at HDC because I really want to help people and hopefully make a difference.
I was looking to work for a company that provided a positive work environment that takes care of its staff and helps them to develop their career along the way and I have most definitely found that within HDC. Every member of staff I have come into contact with has shown so many of the icare values and has gone out of their way to welcome me and include me in the team.
In terms of what I most value working here, it has to be my fellow colleagues. The training and support that I have been given has been excellent and knowing that I have the support of my colleagues whilst learning is so valuable.
I also think it's worth mentioning the amazing support system that is provided by our mental health first aiders. Knowing that there is additional support that I can access in confidence is a wonderful thing, and is something that really does show how much HDC cares about their staff and their well-being.
Since starting with HDC I am most looking forward to developing my career and skill set as the years go by. I feel very confident from my short time here that this will be fully supported by the wonderful team leaders and I’m excited to see where my career takes me within HDC.
If anyone is considering a position at HDC I would strongly encourage them to go for it. Working for the council has been such a positive experience within such a friendly environment. Being part of a team that helps our local community is such an amazing experience I would highly recommend joining us.
