As Huntingdonshire District Council continues its communications campaign – 'Think Local Make a Difference' – new digital town guides have launched for residents and visitors.
The new format for sharing curated and scrollable content by Instagram means people can now consume information about Huntingdon, Ramsey, St Ives and St Neots in an easy-to-digest format. The guides are the start of curating a digital presence for our high streets and to encourage businesses to grow their online offering.
Videos have been made for social media that take visitors through how to access the guides as well as what happens when you click on a businesses profile in the guide (how you can find their Instagram profile, call the business, locate them on a map or directly click through to their website right from the guide).
Executive Leader for the council, Cllr Ryan Fuller said: "These guides bring to life what makes each of our market towns special, which you wouldn’t see from a standard business directory."
"Instagram’s new technology has helped us to demonstrate how beautiful our district is to not only those who live here but to visitors from other areas."
The guides are ever-evolving as more businesses have a social media presence and as people interact by liking, commenting and sharing with their network of followers.
