New Mini Movers sessions, run by Huntingdonshire District Council’s Active Lifestyles Team, are set for an exciting new look in time for Christmas. The sessions are designed to give under fives a chance to use a range of physical activity based equipment, to build active lives from an early age.

The Mini Movers sessions, which take place at One Leisure Huntingdon and St Neots, will have even more equipment available for youngsters, as a range of new equipment has been bought in. This includes balance and junior gym equipment, making it easier for all to participate. The sessions will include coach-led activities aimed at getting parents and young children playing together.

The hour-long sessions cost just £2 per child. Alongside this, customers will also get free access to Leo’s FunZone meaning users can go to the session and enjoy more active play in the centre with their children at no additional cost.

Café Zest at the two sites have also introduced a Mini Movers Menu exclusive to Mini Movers’ customers, with additional special deals available.

Councillor John Palmer, whose executive responsibilities include One Leisure Active Lifestyles, said: “The Mini Movers sessions are an exciting new addition to the programme. They are fantastic open sessions that allow parents to build activity into their children’s lives from a very early age. The introduction of the free use of Leo’s FunZone and the new menu means that parents can spend a whole morning and have lunch in the leisure centres at a low cost. This has potential benefits in later years as these children will be comfortable using the centres, and it is hoped we can help them to create healthy habits through this early exposure to the centres.”

The new look sessions will be introduced from 3 December 2018. For more information on Mini Movers, you can email Peter Thorpe, Sports Development Officer or call 01480 388842. Details are also available on the One Leisure Active Lifestyles Facebook page.
