In November, we launched a district-wide Best Dressed Christmas Window competition for local businesses across our four market towns: St Neots, Huntingdon, St Ives and Ramsey.
Our four winners will receive marketing support from award-winning, digital marketing agency, Sookio.
Digital marketing is now more important than ever for businesses to thrive. Sookio will work with the winners to revamp their marketing strategy for the coming year, developing an actionable plan for the next six months. Winners will also receive a consultancy session and one-to-one skills session, where they'll get to grips with the trends and marketing techniques that will safeguard their success.
All competition entrants will also have the opportunity to attend a marketing workshop in the new year.
Chairman of Huntingdonshire District Council, Cllr Mac McGuire said: "The competition entries this year were of an exceptionally high standard, demonstrating the creativity and passion of our diverse local businesses. I send my congratulations to all of our winning entries."
"We are delighted to offer this valuable prize of marketing support to our local businesses and help them make the most of their digital marketing in 2022 and beyond”.
Here are the winners from across the four towns.
St Neots - Crafty Monkey
Speaking about the competition, Chrissy Bennett from Crafty Monkey said: "This year, we wanted to create a window that gave off 'a bit of magic' where people could walk by and be filled with Christmas spirit."
"It really means a lot to have won the competition as we are tucked away and despite constantly trying to promote pottery painting to all ages, from all walks of life, as our ethos is all about inclusivity and the therapeutic and positive benefits of arts and crafts rather than being art snobs, we're quite a niche business so usually the more well known shops in busier locations get noticed, so to have won and be recognised is a great feeling!"
"And then to top it off, there's an awesome prize of marketing support! As a small business that has just ticked along there's never any budget to consult experts or to have a big marketing budget so everything has been pretty much self taught from accounts to the marketing so it will be a great benefit to get expert advice regarding where we could tweak our marketing, particularly as things in this arena have changed so much since I'd have originally read up on it, particularly with social media!"
Huntingdon - James Cox
A representative from James Cox Ltd. said: "James Cox has been on Huntingdon High Street for 129 years offering quality clothing and gifts. We are delighted to receive first prize in the Huntingdon District Council best dressed Christmas window competition. The fantastic prize from Sookio Digital Marketing Agency will help us to continue to adapt and develop the business for the years to come."
St Ives - The Shop at No.15
Sandy Graham from The Shop at No.15 said: "We are over the moon to win. It is great that the District Council have these initiatives to shine a spotlight on local businesses after the challenges we have all faced recently."
