In response to an increase in reports of anti-social behaviour in the area of Ramsey town centre and other locations in the area, Huntingdonshire District Council (HDC), in partnership with the police, is looking to put in place a Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO).
The behaviours that are concerning people living, working, and travelling in the area include:
- public intoxication
- substance misuse
- public urination/defecation
- intimidating behaviour to residents and businesses in the area.

If consultation is successful, the PSPO would look to enforce a set of conditions which would be jointly enforced by HDC and Cambridgeshire Constabulary.
HDC is now entering a period of consultation with those who would be impacted by the proposed PSPO.
As a consultee in this process, we would like to offer the opportunity for you to provide your valued views and feedback.
If you want to discuss this consultation further, please contact us at CommunityAction@huntingdonshire.gov.uk, including 'Ramsey PSPO' in the subject title.
Alternatively, you can call 01480 388388 and ask to talk to Georgia Patterson from the Community Team.
The period of consultation will last from Monday 9 September 2024 until Monday 23 September 2024.
We are grateful for your time and consideration of the proposed conditions.
