An additional community facility in Little Paxton will be ready for use early next year and we are seeking your views to help shape the best use of it. Huntingdonshire District Council is working with the Colts football team to make sure the facility suits the needs of local people.

The building, currently under construction on Samuel Jones Crescent, will be suitable for sports and community activities and includes changing rooms, offices, kitchen and several rooms for meetings, parties and groups to get together. The outside space includes a full-size football pitch which can also be used for other activities.

The building will be run by the Colts Football Club and, as plans for occupation of the building get under way, we want your views on what sort of things you would like to see happen at the new facility. Parties, classes, activities for children? Let us know what you need.

Opportunities to have your say include:

  • week commening 20 June on the Green at Samuel Jones Crescent – look out for times on posters
  • week commencing 27 June at Little Paxton Health Centre –look out for times on posters
  • Saturday 16 July at Paxfest at Playing Field, Little Paxton – look for the Colts stall
  • emailing Little Paxton Colts at LPColtsFc@gmail.com.

Chairman of the Colts, Paul Cook, urged local people to have their say: "This new building and playing field in Little Paxton is for everyone, not just the football teams. We want to find out what other activities people want that we can bring to Little Paxton in a way that is affordable and inclusive, and which is run in a way that the community can make the most of it. We need to find the best way to set this building up to achieve these objectives and we need people to help in setting up that process."

Cllr Steve Criswell, Executive Councillor for Community Resilience, said: "This new building is the second community building for Little Paxton. We are very pleased to secure it at last for the people of Little Paxton. As the population has increased, so too has the need for the additional resource and its location in the newest part of the village enhances community activity."
