Huntingdonshire District Council is offering specialist exercise classes for older adults and people with medical conditions. On Thursday 11 February 2016 the One Leisure Active Lifestyles team is launching a new RightStart 1 class, a chair-based exercise class using resistance bands to give the whole body a workout.

The new class will be held on Thursday mornings from 10am-11am at Poppyfields Care Home, Chapman Way, Eynesbury, PE19 2SH. The class is running as an eight week pilot scheme to see if there is a need for it in St Neots.

The class costs £3.50 for the hour and participants are encouraged to turn up 15 minutes early to meet the instructor and complete a short health questionnaire before their first session. It is always advisable to check with a health professional before beginning any exercise programme.

Cllr Robin Howe, whose executive responsibilities include One Leisure Active Lifestyles said: "It’s never too late to want to improve your health and fitness and it’s great the Active Lifestyles team can help you do this. As well as the benefits of the exercise, exercising with others creates great social benefits."
