A Holocaust Memorial Service was held by Huntingdonshire District Council on 26 January at its Pathfinder House headquarters in Huntingdon.

The theme for this year’s event was ‘How can life go on?’. Chairman of the Council, Cllr Peter Bucknell said: "I would like to give thanks to the Police and Crime Commissioner, Jason Ablewhite, Jonathan Djanogly MP and others who lit candles at the ceremony, and to the four students from St Ivo School; Lauren Daws, Hector Hands, Mollie Wright and Hazel Wynn for the excellent presentations they gave on their recent school visit to Auschwitz-Birkenau."

A guard of honour was given by the Air Cadets from 73 (Huntingdon) Squadron and Huntingdon and District Sea Cadets.

The service was taken by Rev Andrew Milton, vicar of St Mary’s and All Saints’ Churches, Huntingdon.
