St Neots Community College Urban Design Framework
The Town Council, District Council, County Council and Eynesbury Rovers Football Club all own land within the vicinity of St Neots Community College, and all have aspirations for the land that they control.
The purpose of this Urban Design Framework is to ensure that all of these aspirations can be brought together to create a well planned development.
The urban design framework ties together several strands:-
• rationalising development at the school to provide a performing arts centre and generally improving the entrance area, addressing security issues and creating attractive areas of open space
• the potential to refurbish or redevelop elements of the leisure centre and swimming pool
• the potential to redevelop the Eynesbury Rovers football ground for housing and relocating the football club onto the adjacent school playing fields, together with ensuring the provision of more community facilities for the residents of Eynesbury
• concentrating all of the floodlight sporting facilities into one location, releasing further land for housing
• extending the school playing fields westwards towards the river
• creating a framework to allow for the potential creation of further public open space along the Great Ouse corridor, subject to further formal planning procedures
