On the 8th of December 2011 the Cabinet endorsed the proposal for the Council to produce a new Local Plan. The Local Plan will cover the period up to 2036 and, once adopted, will replace all current parts of the development plan, including the Core Strategy 2009 and the saved policies of the Local Plan 1995 and Local Plan Alteration 2002.
An updated Local Development Scheme, outlining the timetable for preparing and delivering the new local plan, was approved by Cabinet in February 2012.
Informal Policy Statements
Listed below is the current range of 'Informal Policy Statements' which have been issued by the District Council. These provide advice or ideas for particular topics or areas, but have not been formally 'adopted' by the Council as Supplementary Planning Documents.
