Employment Land Availability Assessment

Latest News

On the 8th of December 2011 the Cabinet endorsed the proposal for the Council to produce a new Local Plan. The Local Plan will cover the period up to 2036 and, once adopted, will replace all current parts of the development plan, including the Core Strategy 2009 and the saved policies of the Local Plan 1995 and Local Plan Alteration 2002.
An updated Local Development Scheme, which will outline the timetable for preparing and delivering the new local plan, is being prepared and will be presented to Cabinet in February 2012.

ELAA

The purpose of the Employment Land Availability Assessment (ELAA) is to identify and assess sites that could be used for employment development. It is not a policy document and does not allocate sites or dictate future policy direction. It assesses existing employment sites and new sites in areas identified for employment growth in the Huntingdonshire Core Strategy. The sites the ELAA assesses will be used to choose from for allocations in the forthcoming Planning Proposals Development Plan Document (DPD).

Consulting on the Draft ELAA

The main aim of consultation on the Draft ELAA is to make sure that the information in each of the assessments is correct. The assessments contain information that has been collected from a number of different sources and may not be up to date.
The consultation will start on 25 March 2011 and run until 26 April 2011. Comments can be made online through the Council’s Consultation Portal (See External Links) or by email or post as detailed in the Draft ELAA.

Next Steps

Following the consultation the ELAA will be amended based on the comments
received. It is hoped that the final version can be published in June 2011.
