On the 8th of December 2011 the Cabinet endorsed the proposal for the Council to produce a new Local Plan. The Local Plan will cover the period up to 2036 and, once adopted, will replace all current parts of the development plan, including the Core Strategy 2009 and the saved policies of the Local Plan 1995 and Local Plan Alteration 2002.
An updated Local Development Scheme, which will outline the timetable for preparing and delivering the new local plan, is being prepared and will be presented to Cabinet in February 2012.
Core Strategy
The Core Strategy Development Plan Document (DPD) was adopted by Huntingdonshire District Council on 23 September 2009 following Independent Examination by an Inspector appointed by the Secretary of State.
The Core Strategy sets the strategic spatial planning framework for how Huntingdonshire will develop up to 2026. It contains strategic policies to manage growth and guide new development in Huntingdonshire.
