Financial Advice - Dealing With Debt
Various local organisations are able to supply advice, debt counselling or, in certain cases, funds and grants.
The leaflet "Struggling to pay your bills?" is shown as a linked document along side this area and has been jointly produced by all the organisations shown in it.
It is hoped that one, or more, of these organisations may be able to help you in different ways if you are struggling to pay your bills or require assistance.
Huntingdonshire District Council may be able to arrange help with your Council Tax.
If you are on low income or have become unemployed you may be entitled to Council Tax Benefits (please see the link in the Related Information box on the right or call the Benefits Helpline on 01480 388308).
If you are the sole adult (over 18) in the house, you are entitled to a 25% single occupant discount. Certain other members of the household can also be disregarded and further details of this can be found by following the Council Tax Discounts link in the Related Information box on the right or you can call the Council Tax Helpline on 01480 388030.
In addition our Housing Department may be able to assist you as the Housing Advice Service in Huntingdon provides advice and assistance on a wide range of housing related problems and a link to this area is shown alongside.
We cannot guarantee that we can help you remove your debts but if you do contact us we will aim to help you where we can.
Don’t delay - contact us or one of the other local organisations today.
Various web site links to other organisations are also shown in the External Links box on the right although certain organisations can only be contacted on the phone (these numbers are available on the leaflet).
