Unable to Pay?

If you are having difficulties paying your council tax.

• Please talk to us, at any stage of recovery. We may be able to help you by making a payment arrangement. You must complete an Income and Expenditure form before we can do this.

• If you have received a summons or Notice of Liability Order, but cannot pay the full amount immediately, please complete a financial statement using the Income & Expenditure form link on the right of this page, to help us to decide upon a reasonable payment offer.

Please pay as much as you can in the meantime.

• You can also get free advice from one of the organisations listed in External Links box on the right of this page. There are some useful leaflets in the Linked Documents box.

• Read the council tax guide, sent with your council tax bill, to see if you are entitled to a discount, exemption or disregard discount, or use the Council Tax link in the Related Information box.  There is information on discounts, exemptions and disregards on these pages.

• On a low income? Use the on-line Benefit Calculator to see whether you may qualify for council tax benefit, then contact the council tax benefit office to discuss making an application.  You can use the link in the Related Information box to find information about claiming benefits and the Benefits Calculator.
