School Sport

The Sport and Active Lifestyles team works closely with the districts schools and the Huntingdonshire School Sports Partnership to help promote sport.

Primary and Junior school festivals are organised to create an opportunity for schools to compete against each other. The main festivals are High 5s Netball that are held in both the Autumn and Spring.

Other projects with schools include help and support with multi sports days, multi intelligence days, health weeks and the Gifted and Talent scheme.

Support is also offered to teachers and pupils by setting up and running awareness courses and sports leader courses.

For more information about our work with schools please contact the Sport and Active Lifestyles team.

The festivals were run in partnership with the school sports partnership and were hosted by some of the secondary schools across the district.

A total of 15 different schools, 25 separate teams and approximately 200 pupils took part over the 3 days. The winning schools were Holywell Primary School (St Ivo School), Middlefield Primary School (Ernulf Academy) and Spaldwick Primary School (Hinchingbrooke).

The next district High 5s Netball festivals will take place during May 2012.
