Outdoor Gym Equipment
Huntingdonshire District Council’s Sports and Active Lifestyles Team are offering a free outdoor exercise class to help people get healthier without spending a penny. The classes are suitable for all residents over the age of 16, whether new to exercise or returning to exercise. The class is held at:
Coneygear Park, Huntingdon, Mondays, 9.15am to 10.15am
Classes are taught by qualified and experienced instructors who are at least Level 2 on the Register of Exercise Professionals and are designed to help residents get the most out of the equipment. The class will also help residents meet current exercise guidelines of participating in at least 150 minutes of moderate physical activity per week. There is also equipment at Hinchingbrooke Country Park, Huntingdon, and both sets of equipment can be used at any time if you cannot attend the class.
Daniel Gammons, Physical Activity Officer said "It is well known that people are spending less, but at the same time waist lines are expanding. I would like to encourage residents to come along and give the class a try, burn a few extra calories, feel better and have fun without having to reach for the piggy bank.”
You don’t need to wear any specialist exercise clothes but come dressed appropriately for the weather conditions. Please arrive 15 minutes early to your first class to fill out some essential paperwork and bring a bottle of water with you. Classes do not run on bank holidays or during extreme weather conditions.
