Disability Sports Festivals

Two festivals are organised by Huntingdonshire Disability Sports Forum each year within Huntingdonshire. The aim is to introduce disabled people to sports and activities that they may not have taken part in before, and to provide details of where they can participate within these activities within the district. The festivals are supported by local clubs and organisations who give up their time voluntarily to coach and lead the activities.

Huntingdonshire Disability Sports Forum is a voluntary group made up of a wide range of individuals with the aim of promoting and developing disability sport throughout the local area. The Forum is always keen to hear from people with an interest in this area, if you are keen to get involved please contact the Sport and Active Lifestyles Team on 01480 388842 or visit the Disability Sport Forum tab on the left for more in formation.

The Indoor Disability Sports festival on Sunday 2nd October 2011 attracted over 60 participants enjoying 12 different sports on a fun packed day which finished with some races for all to take part in.

Huntingdonshire Disability Sports Forum would like to thank, St. Ives Rangers Disability Football club, Move2Health, and Howzat Cricket Club, as well as all the other volunteers that gave their support on the day. The time and effort given from these clubs and individuals is the foundation of these events, without their support they simply wouldn’t happen.
