Domestic Waste that cannot be recycled, composted, reused or disposed of by other means.
Do not overfill your wheeled bin
The wheeled bin should not be used for hot ashes, heavy materials or liquids.
|
Please note that bin colours and collection methods do vary for some properties and areas of the district. For example flats and maisonettes may have green boxes or clear bags for recycling and some areas of the district have green wheeled bins for recycling. Some properties use blue sacks for rubbish.
Whatever type of receptacle you use it should be placed out for collection at the edge of the premises adjacent to the public highway by 06:30 am or no earlier than 8:00 pm the night before.
Within Cambridgeshire we don’t currently have any previsions for recycling plastics that aren’t collected via the blue bin, so unfortunately this will have to go into landfill. Items such as yogurt pots, butter pots etc. may however be accepted by schools or playgroups for painting or junk modelling, so it is worth asking your local community groups.
