The Refuse & Recycling Service
- Since January 2003 we have made some major improvements to the collection services offered to our residents. These are all aimed at making it easier for residents to recycle.
We collect a wide range of materials from the kerbside using wheeled bins where possible. The three main waste streams we collect are as follows:
- Dry Recycling - Glass bottles & Jars, Cans, Tins, Paper, Card, & Plastic Bottles.
- Garden & Kitchen Waste - For composting
- Domestic Waste - Anything that cannot be recycled
To see a detailed list of what can go into each bin, please view the Recycling & Refuse Collection Service Guide on the right.
For further information about each of these collections see the relevant link on the left.
To find out when your refuse & recycling is collected please click on the bin collection link in related information on the right.
Only wheeled bins issued by HDC will be emptied by our collection crews. We will not empty any other type of bin.
