How to make a complaint to the Council

Huntingdonshire District Council encourages any suggestions for improving its services. If you wish to make comments on our services, or make an initial complaint about a service, please use our Online Contact Form linked on the right.  Alternatively you may be able to resolve the complaint by taking it up immediately with the council officer with whom you have been dealing, or with their immediate line manager.

If you have already made contact with the council and are unhappy with the response, then please feel free to use the Online Formal Complaints Form to start the formal complaints process.  Please note that this process is intended to fully investigate failings within a service and will not speed up the processing of existing requests.

Alternatively, complaints can be made by the following methods:

Code of Conduct Complaints

In May 2008 responsibility for considering complaints that a Member may have breached the Code of Conduct moved from the Standards Board for England to the Standards Committees of local authorities.

Should you wish to complain about the conduct of a Member of Huntingdonshire District Council or a Member of one of our Parish or Town Councils, you may submit your complaint in writing to the Monitoring Officer by completing the Code of Conduct complaints form on the right and sending it to the address given above.

The Standards Committee can only deal with complaints about the behaviour of a Member. It will not deal with complaints about things that are not covered by the Members' Code of Conduct. If you make a complaint to the Standards Committee it must be about why you think a Member has not followed the Code of Conduct.
