Petitions

In accordance with the Local Democracy, Economic Development and Construction Act 2009, the Council approved a revised Petitions Scheme at its meeting on 23rd June 2010. The Scheme intends to ensure that written and electronic petitions are dealt with in a consistent and coherent way.

The Council welcomes petitions and recognises that this is one way in which local people can raise concerns. Petitions can either be submitted in electronic or paper form. To submit an e-petition, please click on the link to the right of this page, where you will also be able to find details of any active petitions. If you wish to submit a petition in paper form, then please send it to the following address:-

Chief Executive
Huntingdonshire District Council
Pathfinder House
St Mary's Street
Huntingdon
Cambs
PE29 3TN

Petitions accepted by the Council must meet the requirements specified within the Petitions Scheme. Please click on the "Petitions By The Public" link under the "Linked Documents" section to the right of this page where you will find a short guide on how to submit petitions. The guide includes details on the scope of petitions and eligibility criteria, together with details of the procedure that will be followed by the Council on the receipt of a petition.
