Parish Electoral Review in Huntingdonshire

The Council has concluded its review of parish boundaries and electoral arrangements in the District.  The proposals seek to provide a better reflection of community identities and a review of the number of councillors representing each parish.

The Department for Communities and Local Government has made a Statutory Instrument - The Huntingdonshire (Parishes) Order 2009 - which comes into effect on 1st April 2010.  Please use the link on the right to view the document.

In total 28 parishes have been affected by the review.  The Order confirms the -

  • abolition of the parishes of Eynesbury Hardwicke and St Neots Rural;
  • constitution of four new parishes of Hamerton and Steeple Gidding, Offord Cluny and Offord D'Arcy, Waresley-cum-Tetworth and Wyton-on-the-Hill; and
  • alterations to other parish boundaries within the District.

Maps detailing the major changes can also be viewed using the links on the right.
