Have you been subjected to a discriminatory incident, because of race, colour, faith, sexuality or disability?

This is classed as Hate Crime and it is unacceptable and should be reported.

Open Out

Open Out is a third party reporting scheme that provides confidential support to people affected by Hate Crime.

Hate Crimes happen because of hostility, prejudice or hatred of disability, gender identity, race, sexual orientation or religion or belief.

They include things like name calling and verbal abuse, bullying and harassment, spitting and physical attacks, damage to property, graffiti, and malicious written notes, emails and text messages.

If you or anyone you know has experienced a Hate Crime, please report it.

Ways to report

  • Telephone: 01223 823 552 between 9.00 am and 5.00 pm (If you're calling outside this time or can't get through please leave a message with your name, number and the best time to call).

  • Online: Please click on the link on your right hand side for the Open Out Cambridgeshire.
  • Form: Forms are available around the district at schools, doctor surgeries, shops and community centres.
  • Visit a reporting centre: A list of the reporting centres will be available soon, in the meantime please contact 01223 823 552 to report a Hate Crime.
  • Please remember in an EMERGENCY you should call the police on 999.
  • If you want to report an incident to the police and you are not in immediate danger call you can telephone the non emergency number 101.
  • You can also report a Hate Crime incident via Cambridgeshire Constabulary reporting website (link on the right hand side of this site) .
