St Ives Enterprise Centre

St Ives' reputation as a premier business location was recently enhanced with the opening of a new innovative, energy efficient £1.1 Million Enterprise Centre aimed at both start up and fledgling companies.

Developed by Huntingdonshire District Council - and part funded by Cambridgeshire County Council - the Enterprise Centre is home to eight industrial workspaces and six offices all offering high quality, flexible accommodation.

The facility’s design incorporates a range of innovative sustainability features which will assist in minimising tenant costs through reduced utility bills. Amongst these are

  • Air source Heat Pumps with energy recovery ventilation,
  • Climate control, natural daylight and ventilation
  • Use of low energy lighting, inside and out
  • Use of rain water for toilet flushing
  • Green sedum roof providing enhanced insulation

A further incentive for potential tenants is that the smaller units fall below the £6000 rateable value threshold for Small Business Rate Relief and therefore no rates would be paid between October 2010 & September 2011 and only 50% the year after.

The units range in size from 210ft² (20m²) to 383ft² (36m²) offices and 570ft² (53m²) to 960ft² (89m²) industrial. A fuller description of the Centre, its green credentials and rental cost for each unit can be seen by clicking on the relevant documents in the right column.
